Rie Tanaka
Rie Tanaka (田中 理恵 Tanaka Rie?) (Sapporo, Hokkaido, January 3, 1979) is a Japanese seiyū and singer.
Biography
She always liked illustrations and drawings of manga, and Japanese animation in general, which is why she decided to try her luck as a voice actress for series, participating in several manga contests in high school. Upon graduating from Ella Tanaka High School, she moved to the capital of Tokyo and entered the animation institute in Yoyogi, and studied to become a voice actor for animated series. While she attended here, she also had the opportunity to debut as a singer while studying, recording some collaborations for the project's second album called Eien no Shinyuu.
His debut in an animation was in the anime called Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure from 1999, where she played the heroine of the series Mitsuki Sanada, and thanks to this she met her future great friend Megumi Toyoguchi, who also participated in said series, and with whom she would later share many others jobs. The series in which she however made herself known more clearly was Steel Angel Kurumi , where apart from dubbing she also sang & # 34; Kiss Kara Hajimaru Miracle & #34;, theme of the series.
Tanaka began to become known mainly for her roles within the Gundam Seed ranges and later with Gundam Seed Destiny, Chobits and Futari wa Pretty Cure; Later, she did voices and soundtracks for video games, one of them was Rockman Zero (MegaMan Zero), where she provided the voice of Doctor Ciel.
Tanaka married his partner Seiyū Koichi Yamadera on June 17, 2012, however, on August 3, 2018 they announced their divorce after 6 years of union, both decided to continue their separate paths, hoping that Their followers continue to support them. [1] [2]
Musical career
Rie's first forays as a singer emerged in 1999; Even before she made her debut as a seiyū, she had already recorded her first songs in studios. The albums she released were drama CDs titled 'Club Rie-Rie', and they were divided into two parts. These albums were practically pure Rie vocal records, but they also included some of her songs; but even so they are not considered musical albums.
The album "garnet", released in February 2001, is considered Rie's first album as a singer, although not officially. The promotion for this work was absolutely zero, and it had no impact on Rie's career, quickly passing into oblivion.
Her musical career began to proliferate in a more serious way when she began singing for the CLAMP anime series called Chobits, under the shadow of Chii, the main character of this series where Rie does the dubbing., which reached levels of popularity that were not expected. In 2002 she joined the Victor Entertainment label and released her first single & # 34; Raison d & # 39; être & # 34; to the market, a song that was also used as the first closing theme of Chobits. Three months later he releases "Ningyo Hime", the second ending of the series and a single that becomes one of the favorite songs for fans of the series played by Rie, apart from also the first song for which he records a music video.
At the beginning of 2003 Rie released her album "24 wishes" to the market, which is considered her first album although others were released before she began her singing career more seriously. All promotions associated with the album were related to the Chobits series, since apart from the two previous singles that were part of the animation, several other songs were also Chii's theme songs. This same year her musical career takes other directions, when she also begins singing songs for the anime Gundam Seed, under the name of Lacus Clyne. Sony Music, who was in charge of the music for this series, granted Rie and Victor the rights to use the music that genuinely belonged to them, to later release the Ep "Chara de Rie", which included themes from both Chobits and Gundam. Later she also recorded some songs for the continuation of Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, with music much more oriented towards Pop idol such as the new version of & # 34; Shizuka na Yoru ni & # 34; called "Quiet Night C.E.73", "EMOTION", and the ballad "Fields of hope". These tracks were later included on Gundam compilations.
Rie's musical career had regular activity between 2002 and 2003, and since that date she has not released any other album - whether single or album - under her name, although she has recorded some songs for certain animes where The dubbing of some of the characters has also participated.
