Punch in tin foil - "Greek Cabal" in the style of the geometric period, by Mexican artist Manolo Vega, 2011

The embossing of silver is a working technique of this metal, which after being used in the Inca Empire, continued to be developed in the time of the Viceroyalty of Peru, and which consists of obtaining effects relief by hitting the back of the surface, so that protuberances are raised whose profiles are then completed on the outside, refining them with an instrument called a chisel.

The same technique is applied to sheets of other metals such as copper, tin, brass, etc.

This type of silver work is still carried out in Peru.
