Raul Salinas de Gortari
Raúl Salinas de Gortari (born Monterrey, Nuevo León, August 24, 1946) is a Mexican civil engineer, public official and businessman, brother of former Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari, who served in the federal public administration of Mexico from 1975 to 1995, in institutions such as the Secretariat of Human Settlements and Public Works, the Secretariat of Programming and Budget, the National Solidarity Program and the National Popular Subsistence Company.
Biography
Raúl Salinas de Gortari studied Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is a Master in Transportation Planning from the École Nationale Des Ponts Et Chaussees in Paris, as well as in Evaluation of Industrial Development Projects from the Université de Paris.
He was deputy general director of Grupo IUSA for 10 years, a Mexican high-engineering company founded in 1938, since August 2019 he is Advisor to the Group's Presidency.
In 2016 he published his book "Citizen Empowerment through Technology" which was presented at the Guadalajara Book Fair.

Academic activity
He has been a professor in the areas of Research and Learning, as well as Planning, at the Faculty of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, of Project Evaluation at the Faculty of Economics of the same university, and visiting researcher at the Center for Studies Mexico - United States of the University of California, San Diego. He is a member of the College of Civil Engineers of Mexico, in which he was director of Planning Studies in the XVI Board of Directors and general director of Profession Analysis. At the Mexican Society of Engineers, he was vice president of the State Steering Committee, as well as a member of the Board of Honor and a member of the PRI's National Political Council.
He is a Director of the Alumni Society of the Faculty of Engineering of the UNAM. In 1982 he was named Academician of Number of the Mexican Academy of Engineering. He has also been an active member of the Mexican Society of Geography and Statistics since 1985.
Cultural activity
He has been a Partner - Trustee of the Olga and Rufino Tamayo Foundation, a Founding Partner of the Palacio de Minería Music Academy and a member of its Board of Directors in 1991, as well as a member of the Friends of the Historic Center of Coyoacán Board of Trustees.
