Rapsusklei is the stage name of rapper and composer Diego Gil Fernández, a rapper and MC born in the neighborhood of La Magdalena, Spain.

He has several awards such as the "winner for the best hip hop album in Mexico" at the "Independent Music Awards" and "best album of the year" in the "premios de la música mexicana” in addition to appearing in several school books as a reference to the poetry of our century.

Apart from Hip Hop he has recorded several demos, albums and dancehall and reggae collaborations.

He started rapping when he was only 10 years old and today he is one of the most important artists on the Mexican and Latin American Rap scene in general, known for his deep lyrics and his charismatic style of dropping verses, he is capable of tearing and to sew the hearts of each one of his listeners again, reaching a fusion between surrealism and reality, between sadness and joy, coming to empathize with his audience in a very peculiar way only with the naturalness of his message and his melancholic way. to caress the honey of writing.

Biography

His career began in the streets of the Magdalena neighborhood in Zaragoza, the neighborhood where he grew up: around 1990 Rapsusklei, at just 10 years old, began to write his first rap songs influenced by the leading American rap groups from those years (Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, etc.). At that time his stage name was El Puto Sark .

In 1995 he released his first demo, Estado de locura, which was recorded and produced by Nacho C at Rimas Silenciosas (Hardcore Street studios) and moved to national level and is now a rare piece. When hip-hop began to reach the masses, Rapsusklei, without having released any LP yet, was already performing all over Spain under the name "El corazón de la rima".

In addition, he had another project with other MCs from Zaragoza who formed the group Fuck tha posse, known in the underground hip hop scene, especially in his city, having recorded only one demo. His first album was recorded in 2002 together with Hazhe (a DJ and producer from Zaragoza who will also accompany him in his performances, whom he met in 1998 during the recording of an LP released by Hazhe). The album was called Rapsusklei & Make me The most real story of your lives. About this disc its authors think:

"The truth is that I have a lot of cariñico to this album, which was originally a model. Here come many friends and friends. I lived a somewhat depressive time, but at the same time I was in contact with nature, and when I wrote, all my negativity became positive. He also lived a time of much love and self-knowledge. We never thought it would go so far, the truth. In addition, the merger with Hazhe was very good and the rap in Spain was different. There are songs written in the 99 that, you want it not, already a while ago. I was 19 years old, I was a little girl, but personally I was very helpful in that album. Also Hazhe dialed every cucumber of flipping, so fucking mother." Rapsusklei
"At that time we didn't know everything we know now at the level of production and letters. I had only recorded a record and was still green, but we managed to guide each other between the darkness and get songs out of it with a special magic that illuminated a lot of people. The public's response was very rewarding. I did everything with a PC, a compressor, an equalizer, a JV-1010 module, and we recorded it with a Shure and some old midwife in front, as an anti-pop. Many people appeared in a discreet way, but they contributed their touch; some playing, others talking, singing, etc. The fact that he went out as a record, gave us the opportunity to play everywhere, that people knew the issues and that they asked us today for that album. I remember him as a record that captures our passion and innocence. The most real story of your lives It was also ours."Hazhe

His second LP, Elipsis, (2003) like the previous one, was a joint effort between Hazhe and Rapsusklei with verses and rhythms that were left over. After the success of these two albums, they released the third and last, Hijos de puta para todo.

In 2008 it became official that Rapsusklei and Hazhe stopped working together, so the MC from Zaragoza continued his solo career, always supported by Fuck tha Posse and other groups from the Zaragoza underground scene.

In 2010 he released his first solo LP, "Pandemia" winner of the best hip hop album in Spain at the "independent music awards" and best album of the year at Aragonese music awards.

In this album, he mainly focuses on making good rhymes and puns, as shown in the songs Hip Hop Kresía and Click, Click. He leaves in the background what had characterized him up to now, the deep rhymes and full of feeling, bordering on the poetic, and decides to make a live album with this Pandemic, that will make people jump. Even so, themes that preserve their ancient essence are appreciated.

2011 comes to light "Pandemia, La Mixtape" based on remixes of what was "Pandemia" and thus refreshing songs that were already hymns among Rapsus listeners.

2012 returns to its beginnings with an album called "Melancolia" (Eternal Miusik) in which he tries to keep alive the flame of poetry that characterizes him, thus winning back the hearts of his most faithful followers.

2013 He edits several demos or street albums and continues to record collaborations with many of the main national artists of the genre and between tours and events he begins to prepare his next album.

2014 returns to the fray with an album released, called "Reality Flow" (Eterno Miusik/Boa) this time with his band The Flow Fanatics. The album was released in March.

The same year but in October a joint album with Sharif and Juaninacka comes out called "Basic Poetry Course".

11/11/2016 one of his most anticipated works comes to light,"Origami"(Eterno Miusik 2016) and "El niño de la selva" he puts his cards back on the table, going back to the origins with an album full of soul and strength and with very well compacted collaborations.

2016 is also part of a project called Rebel Babel among various European artists such as Promoe (Sweden) Luc (Poland) and Rapsus itself from Spain, which consists of an album released and several concerts throughout Europe accompanied by a European Brass Band of more than 50 musicians on stage.

2018 After 23 years since its first national release and a long discography, it returns with INSANO JUICIO, an intimate EP full of deep verses and clear references to drama and melancholy with a conscious message and with both melodic and devastating rhythms.

With this EP, Rapsus opts for collaborators that are somewhat more atypical of the circle we are used to, such as those of the already classic Latin American rappers Akapellah or Rxnde Akozta, the torn voice and full of soul of Maka, or the peculiar style of El Niño de la hipoteca, the scratches are done by Acción Sánchez and Dj Cidtronick.

Rapsusklei has performed all over Spain apart from internationally in New York, Boston, Chicago, Marseille, Toulouse, Berlin, Switzerland, Poland, Morocco, Senegal, Mauritania, Equatorial Guinea and in the Saharaouis refugee camps in Algeria as well as all of Latin America: Colombia, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Chile, Mexico (Mexico D.F, Monterrey, Guadalajara, León, Morelia, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Oaxaca, Mérida and Cancún) Colombia (Bogotá, Medellín) Venezuela (Caracas, Maracay, Puerto la Cruz, Mérida, Maracaibo and Isla Margarita) Peru (Lima, Huancayo and Cuzco) Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Argentina and Uruguay.

Throughout his career he has shared the bill with almost all the leading American and French hip hop groups, such as Busta Rhymes, Wu-Tang Clan, The Game, Lauryn Hill, Das EFX, PMD, Guru, M.O.P., Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Big Daddy Kane, Xzibit, De La Soul, Common, Afu-Ra, The Beatnuts, Black Moon, D.I.T.C, Lords of the Underground, Masta Ace, Big Shug, Pharoahe Monch, DJ Premier, DJ Qbert, Rob Swift, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Kool Herc, Saïan Supa Crew, Sefyu, Keny Arkana, La Rumeur, Chiens de Paille, La Brigade, Loop Troop Rockers, as well as Jamaican groups such as Sizzla, Anthony B, Mr. Vegas, Burro Banton, Alborosie, The Abyssinians or Jah Cure at the best Spanish festivals.

He has also participated with Parisian groups such as Passi, Stomy bugsy and Les sales gosses in a live ensemble of groups from Zaragoza and from Paris.

In 2012 he created his own record company called Eterno Miusik with which he released his album "Melancolía" and he plans to release the next works of him and those of other artists.

Rapsusklei, known as "El Niño de la selva", has recorded 32 demos and 11 albums.
