In botany, the spur is the organ or part of the leaf organs (sepals, petals, etc.) that protrudes outwards from the base of the corolla or calyx.

They collaborate in entomological pollination when in their final part they house nectaries that attract insects that, to drink their nectar, approach the stamens and remain impregnated with pollen. Typical is the case of butterflies, whose spiritus usually coincides in length with that of the spur, which is why cases of coadaptation have been postulated between the species of the phanerogam and the lepidoptera.
