Radio days

Radio Days is a 1987 film directed by Woody Allen that explores his childhood memories through jazz music, in a fortunate environmental recreation of the early years. 40.

Plot

Narrated by Allen himself, the film focuses on the adventures of a boy who discovers music through the radio, becoming his passion. With humorous situations and an unbeatable selection of music of the time (from the most popular jazz melodies to Kurt Weill's cabaret songs), Radio Days is a fortunate, albeit undervalued, film by the filmmaker New Yorker.

In a scene where the boy is going to the movies with his aunt, an excerpt from the movie The Philadelphia Story is being shown in which Katharine Hepburn kisses and hugs James Stewart.

The film stars Julie Kavner, Dianne Wiest and Danny Aiello (Woody Allen regulars) and a brief appearance by Diane Keaton. Allen's taste for music, evident in this autobiographical film, would be channeled into learning to play an instrument, the clarinet. He currently plays every Monday in a bar in New York and does sporadic tours of Europe, like the one documented in the film Wild Man Blues .
