Quarren Isolation League

The Quarren Isolation League was a fictional organization from the fictional universe of Star Wars. It was a Quarren-led association, established on the planet Mon Calamari and allied with the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. It was led by Senator Quarren Tikkes. Although the Quarren were isolationists, they never bothered with galactic representation.

History

The Quarren mined the ocean floors of their homeworld for the minerals from which the Mon Calamari made their floating cities and ships.

When the Quarren allied with the Commerce Guild, they gained incredible political support. The Commerce Guild was able to secure a Quarren majority on the Mon Calamari Council and even set up the corrupt Senator Tikkes for several terms.

Senator Tikkes was later exposed as a corrupt official during the Separatist crisis, and evaded Republic pursuit by fleeing into Separatist space. He committed the resources of his planet to the growing Confederacy and was one of the founders of the movement. But Tikkes has not represented his people in the Senate again since a pro-Republican Quarren, Tundra Dowmeia, was elected senator after his retirement. The resulting political standoff ignited the spark of civil war on Mon Calamari, and Tikkes' followers became known as the Quarren Isolation League.

The League sought to purge any Republican presence from their home planet, so they rose up against the planetary government. The Quarren separatists linked up with Quarren mining barons who had prospered off the funds of the Commerce Guild, and were able to win support in exchange for continued shipments of minerals to the other guilds and companies. Tikkes also signed a treaty with Count Dooku, which proved favorable to the League, obtaining underwater assault vehicles supplemented by the Trade Federation and Techno Union such as the manta droid subfighter, subchargers, and minisubs.

In the ensuing conflict, the Mon Calamari Knights did their best to defend their cities and their Mon Calamari Council. The Republic, in the form of a force of divers clone troopers led by Kit Fisto, arrived to participate in the battle. The forces of the Quarren Isolation League were defeated at the Battle of Mon Calamari. Despite this, the Quarren continued to aid the Confederacy. An organization of exiled Quarren, the Dac Liberation Engineering Volunteer Corps (CVILD), built warships for the Separatist cause, which they supported. This company as well as the League were shut down after Darth Vader assassinated Tikkes and the other leaders of the Separatist Council.
