Contenido The prolative case is a grammatical case that is used with a noun or with a pronoun. It has the basic meaning of "via", "through", "passing through" or "through". The prolative is still frequently used in Estonian, Greenlandic and Basque, but in Finnish it is found only in some fossilized forms. In Finnish, the most commonly used examples are postitse ("by mail"), puhelimitse ("by phone"), and meritse (" by sea").
