Princess of Asturias Award for Concord

The Princess of Asturias Award for Concord (Prince of Asturias Award for Concord until 2014) has been awarded, since 1986, to that person or persons, or institution whose work has contributed in an exemplary and relevant way to understanding and peaceful coexistence among human beings, to the fight against injustice, poverty, disease, ignorance or to the defense of freedom, or that has opened new horizons to knowledge or has excelled, also in an extraordinary way, in the conservation and protection of the heritage of humanity.
