Posadas Libertador General José de San Martín International Airport
The Libertador General José de San Martín International Airport (ANAC: POS; IATA: PSS; ICAO: SARP) is located in the city of Posadas, province of Misiones, Argentina. The airport has an area of 329 hectares and is operated by the company Aeropuertos Argentina 2000. It is one of the two airports, along with Puerto Iguazú, that is enabled for commercial traffic throughout the province.
It has a 6,500 m² terminal, 67,740 m² of runways and parking spaces for 100 vehicles. In 2014, 133,873 passengers passed through the airport, making it the twenty-second busiest airport in Argentina. At its peak in 2015 it handled 178,864 passengers.
This airport is the headquarters of the Army Aviation Section of Monte 12 of the Argentine Army. The Argentine Air Force also uses it to fight drug trafficking.

DESCRIPTION
The airport is located 15 km from the city center. It has a passenger terminal organized on three levels. Two for passenger use and a third level that houses the operating and administrative sector, has an approximately 6,700 m² surface. Its design is quite particular and unique throughout the country since its architecture is in a style of the 80s, it is very similar to the Asunción airport. The airport is not only used by the posadeños but also by the inhabitants of the North Correntino and by the inhabitants of the Paraguayan city of Encarnación to Buenos Aires. During the 2009 2010, important remodeling works were carried out, including reparation of paved track and platform areas (2009), the reconditioning of accesses, sanitary, health room and vertical circulation core of passenger terminal (2010).

Incidents
- On 12 June 1988, Austral Airlines flight 46, crashed about 3km from the track due to low visibility conditions.
- On 10 October 1997, flight 2553 from Austral Airlines left Posadas Airport, but it crashed an hour later in Fray Bentos, Uruguay, in which 75 people died (all crew and passengers). This was the worst aviation accident in Uruguay to date.
