Mexico is a federal republic composed of 31 states and a Federal District, located in North America. North with the United States of America and southeast with Guatemala and Belize. The current constitution, promulgated in 1917, establishes the official name as United Mexican States. It is the country with the largest Spanish-speaking population in the world and currently has more than 112.3 million inhabitants. For its millennial culture, its modern and colonial cities, its beaches and its natural reserves, Mexico is the main tourist destination in Latin America and one of the 10 most visited countries in the world. For its rich variety of ecosystems, Mexico is also one of the 12 mega-diverse countries of the United Nations.
