Pneumocystography

ImprimirCitar

The pneumocystography consists of a mammogram of a breast in which a breast cyst has been punctured, the fluid it contains evacuated, and air injected. Visualization of the air-filled cyst makes it possible to study the existence of excretions from the cyst wall towards its lumen, suggestive of the existence of intracystic papillomas. Some authors maintain that it also has a therapeutic effect on the cyst, preventing its rapid refilling with liquid and consequently contributing to the resolution of the cystic lesion when reabsorption of the inoculated air has occurred.
