In Greek mythology, Pluto (in ancient Greek Πλουτω Ploutō, «wealth») was an Oceanid, and therefore the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys.

However, other authors also imagined her indistinctly as a daughter of Cronus or of a certain Himante, of whom nothing is known. In these versions, her mother is not mentioned.

She had a son named Tantalus by Zeus, or King Tmolus of Lydia, who would later be one of the first kings of the earth. She was a playmate of the young Persephone, Artemis and Athena.
