Play Dead (song)

"Play Dead" is a single released in October 1993 by Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk. It is part of the reissue of her debut album and the soundtrack of the film The Young Americans.

The song contains a moody string section, the lyrics talk about acting insensitive so as not to suffer emotionally.

It was co-written by David Arnold (who also directed the film) and Jah Wobble, along with Björk.

Video Clip

The video was directed by Danny Cannon and features Björk in an empty bar who also appears in the film interspersed with footage from the film.
