Pierre Nodoyuna
Pierre Nodoyuna, born Dick Dastardly, is a fictional villain who appeared in several Hanna-Barbera Productions cartoon series. His most famous appearances were in the series Wacky Races , which was also the first, and in its sequel The Devil Squad . His name in the Spanish dubbing comes from the phrase I don't give one , because he always fails in his plans, even though he doesn't seem like it at all.
Wacky Cars
In Los autos locos, Pierre Nodoyuna was one of the drivers who competed in each episode for victory in a long cross-country rally full of dangers. Pierre hoped to win only through trickery and tricks, but as his name indicates, everything went wrong for him. His racing car, the Super Perrari, featured all kinds of devious tricks that he used against his opponents. Like Los autos locos, it is inspired by the movie The race of the century; thus, Pierre came from the main villain of this one, Professor Fate, played by Jack Lemmon. In this series, Pierre wore an old-fashioned jogger outfit: a long purple coat, long red gloves, and a large striped hat with driving glasses attached to it, and he sported a huge mustache. In his Spanish version, he was characterized by speaking with a strong French accent.
Pierre was aided in his plans by his henchman, a dog named Muttley, who had a characteristic asthmatic laugh.
Despite their best attempts, the "outright baddies", as they are described in the series, failed to win any races. Pierre's plans were always thwarted by his own incompetence, by Snotlout's, by the actions of another runner, or by sheer bad luck, causing Pierre to cross the finish line last, if he ever crossed the finish line. One of the great ironies of the series was that if he hadn't bothered to cheat, he often would have won fairly. After his continuous defeats, Pierre Nodoyuna used to exclaim "Damn! Curse! Holy Blue! There is no right!”. His other famous phrase was "Do something, Muttley!" Most of them in a free translation made by the dubbing actor Julio Lucena who gave voice to the character.
The Devil Squad and Later Aftermath
Pierre Nodoyuna continued his career in the sequel to Los autos locos titled El escuadrón diabolico (in English, Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines), also informally called Catch the Pigeon, after the intro song. In this series, Pierre and Snotlout, as aviation aces, formed together with two other pilots (Dopey and Dopey) the "Devil Squadron", which constantly tried to stop a carrier pigeon carrying messages to an enemy army. As in The Wacky Races, Pierre kept failing miserably in his mission. Here Pierre is wearing an aviator helmet since his vehicle is an airplane and that makes him look more like an aviator than a racing driver.
In later years Pierre and Snotlout, incorrectly translated as "The Red Baron" and & # 34; Fleas & # 34;, in addition to dubbing it with a German accent, to adapt it to its new stereotype, were the nemesis of Yogi Bear and his friends in the 1980s series Yogi and the Search of the treasure . This time, Pierre repeatedly failed to find the hidden treasure before Yogi and his team in Yogi and his friends and became a spy in Yogi and his friends . Pierre and Snotlout also appeared as teenagers in the short-lived series Yo, Yogi!. Pierre and Snotlout's last regular appearances were in the short Fender Bender 500 of the short-lived early 1990s series Wake, Rattle and Roll, in which they once Most were driving the Super Ferrari Special, but they were racing Hanna-Barbera stalwarts such as Yogi Bear and Crazy Shot McGraw. In said series, they finally achieve victory, getting on the podium in a couple of races.
In the TV series Laff-A-Lympics (Laff-A-Lympics) there was a character similar in appearance and talks to Pierre called "Baron Fear" (Dread Baron). The character's name is a pun on the famous World War I air pilot, the Red Baron. In this series, Baron Fear was shown wearing a World War I German air pilot's uniform. This character later appeared in the TV movie Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose.
