Contenido A piedmont glacier is a glacier that forms when one or more valley glaciers leave a mountainous area and spread into nearby lowland. They are ice lobes in areas where a glacier has left a valley and extends to an adjacent plain.
An example of a piedmont glacier is Malaspina Glacier in Alaska, United States.
