Perlavia
Perlavia is a place in the Oviedo parish of Trubia, in Asturias, Spain.
It is located 14.9 km from Oviedo, on the left slope of the Trubia valley, at an altitude that varies between 370 and 410 meters. It is accessed by a deviation on the AS-313 road. Below the town are land for crops.
It has a population of 53 people, who live in houses with traditional architecture, presenting some exterior stairs and corridors. You can also find several well-preserved granaries, with carvings and artistic reliefs.
It has a hermitage dedicated to San Antonio.
Its name is believed to come from per illam apiam, which means next to the abia, by the river.
Others quite logically believe that its name comes from per la vía (by the road), a remarkable fact since the road that follows through Perlavia passes through Sama and enters Castilla by Ventana. In addition, Perlavia is not located next to any river, since the closest one, El Guanga, is 1 km away.
