Perilo (8th century BC). He was an Athenian sculptor who lived around 770 B.C. C. It is assured that he built and gave Falaris, tyrant of Agrigento, a bronze bull destined to burn inside the prisoners sentenced to capital punishment. According to him, the moans released by the victim must produce from inside the burning bull a sound similar to the mooing of the real animal. Falaris, according to tradition, had the first test done by throwing Perilus inside the bull. This legend is generally considered false.
