The peramelemorphs (Peramelemorphia) are an order of marsupial mammals that includes bandicoots and bilbies and are often referred to as marsupial omnivores. All members of the order are endemic to Australia and New Guinea, and most have the characteristic bandicoot shape: a stocky, backward-arching body with a long, delicate, tapering snout, very large upright ears, and relatively long, slender legs, equally than the tail Their weight varies from 140 grams to 2 kilos, but most species are over the weight of a small kitten: around a kilo.
