People's Republic of China at the Olympics
The People's Republic of China at the Olympic Games is represented by the Chinese Olympic Committee, a member of the International Olympic Committee since 1979.
It has participated in 11 editions of the Summer Olympic Games, its first presence taking place in Helsinki 1952, although it did not compete again until Los Angeles 1984. The country has obtained a total of 635 medals in the summer editions: 262 gold, 199 silver and 174 bronze.
He has participated in the Winter Olympic Games in 12 editions, being Lake Placid 1980 his first appearance in these Games. The country has won a total of 77 medals in the winter editions: 22 gold, 32 silver and 23 bronze.
This country hosted the Summer Olympic Games on one occasion: Beijing 2008, and will host the Winter Olympic Games for the first time in the Beijing 2022 edition.
