Panther (Greek: παν, "everything" - θηρα, "fiera") is a generic term to designate various large felids:

Panthera, a genus that brings together all the felids that are able to roar.
Black panther. LeopardosPanthera pardus), jaguars (Panthera onca) and pumas (Puma concolor) black (with melanism);
White panther. LeopardosPanthera pardus), jaguars (Panthera onca) and pumas (Puma concolor(with albinism, leukism or genetic mutation);
