Palo Verde (Caracas metro)
Palo Verde is the passenger terminal station of Line 1 of the Caracas Metro. It is located at the east end of the city and has two entrances from the avenue. To the north of this station is the largest neighborhood in Latin America, the 'Barrio José Félix Ribas', as well as the Palo Verde Residential Complex and the Simón Rodríguez University.
Station structure
The station has two entrances. This station, at the platform level, has a side platform, with two tracks used respectively, with trains arriving on both platforms to avoid congestion at the station and slightly favor the speed of the system. On the 'Mezzanine' level, it consists of the ticket office, and access to the platforms, it also has escalators. In the future, this station will also serve as access to a MetroCable system to the stations: "José Félix Ribas" - "El Carmen" - "Mariches", which are currently based on MetroCable projects. In 2011, it was closed again for the rehabilitation of Line 1, and the work involved changes to the station's switchboard and switching queue, as well as a change in lighting and deep cleaning since it was motivated by the constant filtration coming from the industrial zone, the maneuver queue, especially the maintenance pit, was flooded and the waterproofing work in said area solved these problems.
Currently, this pit is not used for train inspection, but it is operational for parking rolling stock.
