Pacific Palisades
Pacific Palisades is an integrated community in the city of Los Angeles, California (United States). Nestled in its central-western end, it is a highly privileged neighborhood due to its location next to the Pacific Ocean and the Malibu mountains at its southern end, as well as its relative proximity to the most central places with the greatest leisure and work offer in the entire Los Angeles area.
Pacific Palisades is located just 20 minutes equidistant from both downtown Los Angeles, as well as the famous neighborhoods and cities of Bel Air, Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles and Hollywood. Its location in a luxurious geographical area favors the primacy of the white race and high purchasing power in the neighborhood, making it, along with Beverly Hills and Bel Air, the most expensive and inaccessible places in Los Angeles and probably in the entire United States.
In this area is the so-called Getty Villa, a Pompeian-style mansion that magnate Jean Paul Getty contributed to the foundation of the J. Paul Getty Museum. Currently this center houses the museum's collections of Greek and Roman art, while the rest is housed in the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades is home to the Los Angeles Open, a PGA Tour golf tournament.
