Distribution and Habitat
Found in Portugal, Spain, Balearic Islands, France, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Italy, Yugoslavia, and Albania grasslands, prairies, garrigues, scrublands, and open woodlands at elevations up to 1,300 feet ms. no. m.
Description
Ophrys incubacea can be easily recognized because the labellum of the flowers is hairy and dark, and has purplish H-shaped lines in the center. It lives, like the other species of Ophrys, in the clearings of scrub and pine forests. It blooms in the month of March and April.
