The Oompa-Loompas, or also called (translated into Spanish as UmpaLumpas) are characters from the books Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, by British author Roald Dahl. They are short people (approximately 1.45) who live for around 50 years and in turn come from the fictional country Loompaland, where they lived until Willy Wonka found them and domesticated them in exchange for cocoa beans, which are their favorite food. and they were very rare in that place. For this reason, they always ate caterpillars.

In the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they had green hair, bright white suits, and orange faces. In Tim Burton's version, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), all the Oompa-Loompas are played by Deep Roy. In the film Wonka (2023), a prequel to the story, an Oompa-Loompa appears played by Hugh Grant.
