Old Fort district

Vieux Fort or Vieux-Fort (in Spanish: Old Fort) is one of the ten districts into which Saint Lucia is divided, a small island country located in the Lesser Antilles, in the waters of the Caribbean Sea. According to the 2001 census, the district has a population of 14,757 inhabitants.

Both the main city and its surroundings are a popular destination among tourists visiting the island. Originally it was a fishing region but with the construction of the Hewanorra International Airport (destination of the main transatlantic flights to the island) the area has begun to develop. Among the region's attractions are Micoud (a former 18th century French hacienda) and the Mamiku Gardens.
