Ofelia Guilmain
Ofelia Puerta Guilmáin (Madrid, November 17, 1921 - Mexico City, January 14, 2005), better known artistically as Ofelia Guilmáin was a Spanish actress.
Biography and career
He was born on November 17, 1921 in Madrid, Spain. He is part of a large group of Spanish artists and intellectuals who went into exile in Mexico after the Spanish Civil War where he lost a brother and sister.
She married Lucilo Gutiérrez in 1941 and had four children. After her divorce, she married Eduardo Flores de Meza, but this relationship ended in divorce. She was a friend of the actor José Manuel Gálvez Velandia and the muralist painter David Alfaro Siqueiros.
Since 1941, he worked for many years in Mexican cinema, under the direction of Luis Buñuel, among other directors.
In 1952 he obtained Mexican citizenship.[citation required]
During the last decades of his life he dedicated himself to the theater. On television she participated in a variety of epic soap operas such as the "Lit Torch".
He had four children, three of whom are actors Juan Ferrara, Lucía and Esther Guilmáin. His grandchildren, Juan Carlos Bonet and Mauricio Bonet, sons of Juan Ferrara, as well as Oscar Ortiz de Pinedo and Pedro Ortiz de Pinedo sons of Esther Guilmáin and the producer and actor Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo and Raúl Orvañanos son of Lucía Guilmain and the sports commentator Raúl Orvananos.
Death
The actress lost her life on January 14, 2005 in Mexico City at the age of 83, a victim of pneumonia and respiratory failure.
