Odysseus (Tethys crater)
keyboard_arrow_down
Contenido Odysseus is the name of an impact crater found on the surface of the moon Tethys (Saturn's fifth largest satellite). It has a diameter of 400 kilometers, which is approximately 2/5 of the diameter of Tethys. This crater conforms to the spherical surface of Tethys, without the prominent central peaks or mountain ranges common to craters on the Moon and Mercury. This is due to the viscous relaxation of Tethys' weak icy surface through geological times. The object that produced Odysseus is estimated to be a comet about 25 kilometers in diameter.
