The notoricteromorphs (Notoryctemorphia) are an order of marsupial mammals commonly known as marsupial moles. They show an astonishing morphological and ethological resemblance to the placental golden moles belonging to the Chrysochloridae family, although they are phylogenetically very distant species.

In fact, these strange and ancient mammals began their evolution independently of any other marsupial more than 50 million years ago.
