New Jersey Transit or NJ Transit (in Spanish: Tránsito de Nueva Jersey) is the state public transportation company in the state of New Jersey in the United States. Formed in 1979, the company operates various trains, buses, and streetcars throughout the state. It is the only public transportation company in the US that covers an entire state. Its official motto is "The Way to Go" ("La forma de ir" in Spanish).

Their services include:

  • Several trains in northern New Jersey connecting Newark, Trenton, Hoboken, New York, and other cities.
  • A railway line in the south connecting Atlantic City and Philadelphia.
  • A railway line, located along the river Delaware and called the River Line (o) line of the riverThat connects Trenton and Camden.
  • An underground and tram rail system in Newark
  • A tram system in Jersey City and Hudson County, called the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (o) Hudson and Bergen tramway.
  • Several local buses everywhere in New Jersey.
