- Virreinato de Nueva Granada (1717-1723, 1739-1810 and 1816-1819), Spanish virreinate in northern South America;
- United Provinces of New Grenada (1811-1816), Colombian federal republic declared independent of Spain;
- District of New Granada (1824-1830), territorial successor to the department of Cundinamarca in Colombia after 1824;
- State of New Grenada (1830-1832), provisional name of Colombia when the Great Colombia was disintegrated in 1830.
- Republic of New Grenada (1832-1858), was the name received by Colombia once the Constitution of 1832 was promulgated.
- Granadina Confederation (1858-1861), a name adopted by Colombia in the Federal Constitution of 1858.
- United States of America (1861-1863), a de facto name that Colombia received due to the civil war of 1860.
