New dimension
Nueva Dimensión or ND (1968-1983), was a Spanish science fiction and fantasy magazine, whose newsroom was located on Calle de la Mercé in Barcelona.
Trajectory
Founded by Sebastián Martínez, Domingo Santos and Luis Vigil, Nueva Dimensión stood out for the publication of short stories and novels by both Spanish and foreign authors. Likewise, its pages abounded with essays, articles, criticisms, reviews and general information, as well as illustrations and some comic strips, mostly about science fiction and to a lesser extent about fantasy. His permanent cartoonists were Josep María Beà, Carlos Giménez, Esteban Maroto, Enric Sió and Adolfo Usero.
In 1970, the magazine published the story Gu ta gutarrak in its number 14. Despite having submitted it to Prior Deposit, and having duly approved its distribution, a few days later the Public Order Tribunal ordered it to be removed from the circulation of the number, since he considered that Mouján Otaño's story contravened the second article of the Press Law, the work of the Minister of Information and Tourism, Manuel Fraga Iribarne, considering that it threatened the unity of Spain.
At the Eurocon in Trieste in 1972, it was chosen as the best European science fiction magazine.
The magazine ended its journey in December 1983, with an attempt to revive it by publishing number 148, after a year of disappearance from newsstands.

Legacy and influence
ND has perhaps been the most important and influential publication of Spanish science fiction to date. Many of its contributors continued to publish interesting science fiction literature, both narrative and critical and informational, after the magazine ended its run. It was also key at the beginning of the renewal of Spanish comics, allowing authors like Josep María Beà to experiment freely, even creating abstract comics such as "Emotivaciones 68".
