The N'Dama breed of cattle is the most representative of the Bos taurus in West Africa. The origin of this breed is located in the Fouta-Djallon mountains of Guinea. From there N'Dama has spread to the Congo, central Africa, Gabon, Nigeria and Zaire, especially in regions infested by the tsetse fly.
