A pair of nautical shoes.

The boat shoe, sometimes called simply boats, is a light and simple type of shoe used for informal occasions. They are characterized by having grooved rubber soles. They are closed with laces that run around the entire perimeter of the shoe along a double, being visible in sections through metal rivets.

Nautical shoes have a recent origin, dating from the beginning of the XX century. Initially, they were used to practice water sports, hence their non-slip sole, but today they are used on any occasion as sports shoes. Initially, they were made of leather but later they were made of canvas.

Boat shoes are worn by both men and women. They are classic shoes to wear in summer or in temperate latitudes. They are made in a wide variety of colors and are indicated to be worn with casual clothing such as jeans, shorts, bathing suits or Bermuda shorts.
