National Mining Company

The Empresa Nacional de Minería (ENAMI) is a Chilean state-owned company created by DFL No. 153 published on April 5, 1960 by the merger of the Caja de Crédito y Fomento Minero (CACREMI), and the National Foundry Company (ENAF).

Its objectives are to promote small and medium mining through loans, technical assistance and mineral purchases; the provision of smelting and refining services for metals (mainly copper and other minerals); add value to production through the services of processing plants and buy the production of small-scale mining and market it.

Facilities

ENAMI has the following facilities:

• Hernán Videla Lira Foundation (Region of Atacama) opened on 26 January 1952. It has an installed capacity of 300 thousand fine metric tons per year.
• Planta José Antonio Moreno, 1966), Paipote (Planta Manuel Antonio Matta, 1965), El Salado (Planta Osvaldo Martínez, 1929), Planta Vallenar (1973) and Planta Ovalle (1987).
• In addition to 13 local purchasing powers for the medium and small mining.

Previously he was in charge of the Ventanas Smelter and Refinery (Valparaíso Region). Inaugurated on September 30, 1964, its casting capacity is 400,000 fine metric tons per year and it refines some 315,000 metric tons. It was transferred on April 30, 2005 to CODELCO.
