National anthem of saudi arabia
An-Našīd al-Waṭanī as-Suʿūdī (Arabic: النشيد الوطني السعودي, Spanish: Saudi National Anthem), better known asʿĀsh al-Malík (Long Live the King) is the national anthem of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
History
In 1947, King Abdelaziz bin Saud paid a visit to Egypt, and asked Egyptian composer Abdul Rahman Al-Khateeb to create an anthem for his country. This is how As-Salām al-Malakī (Royal Greetings) was born, the name of the instrumental composed by Al-Khateeb. In 1950, the anthem is officially adopted. In 1958, Mohamed Talat composed the first lyrics of the anthem, but they were not heard, so in 1984 King Fahd bin Abdulaziz asked the Saudi poet Ibrahim Khafaji to take charge of the lyrics of the hymn.
This hymn was first played on the first day of Eid al-Fitr of the same year (Gregorian: June 30, 1984; Muslim: Shawwal 1, 1404). It was played on radio and television.
