Artistic career
Influences
Among Oreiro's artistic references are artists as varied as Janis Joplin, Pearl Jam, Joni Mitchell, Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, Ramones, Charly García, Sumo, Almendra, Sui Generis, Los Piojos and Fiona Apple. Regarding the great musical differences between his work and his influences, he declared to Rolling Stone magazine:
That I make Latin pop doesn't mean I can't like the Redonditos. The rockers recorded a record in tribute to Sandro, and when they heard Sandro they were young, they were fat, right? Sandro was popular. Music is music (up the tone). I can take priority for something, but you can't be that closed. Although it does not match your taste, something can attract you the same.
Criticism and legacy
Natalia is considered one of the most recognized Latin American artists in the world thanks to her soap operas and songs. Due to her enormous international popularity with her fictions, she came to be considered The queen of soap operas. In countries like Russia and Israel, due to the enormous success of her soap operas, many young people began to study the language. Spanish.
Despite the fact that many media judged Oreiro's vocal talent negatively, she positioned herself in the musical field as one of the most successful and awarded Latin American singers, as well as the Uruguayan with the highest record sales in the world. «Cambio dolor», «Me muero de amor», «Tu veneno», «Río de La Plata», «Let them say what they want», were undisputed international successes. Her musical success exceeded the limits of the River Plate area, as she managed to position herself as a Song Star in countries of Eastern Europe and the Middle East. She was also the first Uruguayan in history to receive a Gold Otto in Poland and a Stopudovy hit in Russia. About her much-disputed musical success, Celina Alberto from the Argentine newspaper La Voz del Interior said:
It will be useless to want to understand what the One does have to take it so far, or why the refrain of Your poison condenses the feeling of a certain youth tanned by the most cruel winters. Nothing will be found in the pain metric to help us figure out how the Poles fall in love. Oreiro's thing happens on the other hand, one closer to the convictions and truth with which she interprets the character she likes best to be: singer, layer and sword, likes anyone who likes it... That truth as an artist is the one who transcends and she knows. No matter how good an actress she can become, the awards she wins in cinema or the extent of the successes that enable her TV and the circumstances. Singing is another, inexplicable, unqualified thing. Singing is to throw, undress and show fragile areas, invincible knots, torpedoes. A strange talent that when it is not beautiful becomes admirable.
In 2013, the Argentine newspaper La Nación named her one of The 50 Most Inspirational People in the World of the Arts. In 2014, in Russia, she was named the third most influential Latin American in that country. For the great international sales of the fictions she starred in, Muñeca brava (Cambio Dolor), Kachorra (Cuesta Arriba, Cuesta Abajo) and Sos mi vida (Corazón Valiente), became the highest paid actress in Argentina.
Her beauty, image and aesthetics have led her to be considered one of the most beautiful and sexy Latin American women in the world. In 2012 she was crowned as an ambassador of beauty in Argentina, by the brand L & # 39; Oréal Paris. In 2015 she was ranked among The 25 most beautiful Latinas , according to People magazine in Spanish.
