Nat Friedmann
Nathaniel Dourif Friedman (August 6, 1977), known as Nat, is a programmer who founded the Ximian company in 1999 together with Miguel de Icaza, the company It was acquired by Novell in 2003.
Friedman was Ximian's CEO from 1999 until 2001 when David Patrick became Ximian's Outside CEO after the company raised $15 million in venture capital.
Prior to founding Ximian, Friedman worked on the GNU ROPE project, and also for Silicon Graphics and Microsoft. In 1999 she received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Nat was the Vice President of the Linux Desktop section of Novell, and is currently CEO of Xamarin after Novell, following its takeover, laid off several employees. He is the nephew of Brad Dourif and currently lives in San Francisco. He currently CEO at Github.
