Moreno Argentin (San Donà di Piave, December 17, 1960), nicknamed 'il Furbo' ('The Cunning One')., is a former cyclist Italian, professional between 1980 and 1994, during which he achieved 86 victories.
As a junior and amateur runner, Argentin was once his country's road champion, two-time team pursuit champion, and three-time team time trial champion. As a professional, he would be national road champion two more times, in 1983 and 1989.
He was a cyclist especially skilled in medium mountain events. He has a brilliant track record in one-day events, especially in events held in central Europe, such as Liège-Bastogne-Liège or the Fleche Wallonne. Curiously, the Milan-San Remo does not appear among his trophies, as he was denied on several occasions, becoming second in 1992 and third in 1982.
Between 1985 and 1987, he was present on all the podiums of the World Cycling Championship, being the winner in 1986, runner-up in 1987 and third in 1985.
In the Giro d'Italia, in addition to the thirteen stage victories he obtained throughout his entire sporting career, he placed third in 1984 and sixth in 1993.
Although he won two stages, he only started in three editions of the Tour de France.
