Modes of organization of terrestrial space

ImprimirCitar

According to Pierre George, the organization of space is an event to respond to the needs of the local community, of the mosaic constituted by the differentiated raw space. For Olivier Dollfus, each type of society, and each stage of historical evolution, corresponds to forms of organization of space that can be brought together in families, sometimes somewhat arbitrary. It is convenient, for each family, to analyze the function of the natural limiters in the different scales, and the hierarchical relationships that are established between the constitutive elements of the space.

Three basic modes of organization can be distinguished:

  • The natural landscape
  • The landscape modified
  • The landscape ordered
