Miroku (弥勒, Miroku?) is a character from fiction that appears in the anime and manga series called Inuyasha, created by Rumiko Takahashi, although the adaptation to the world of anime was carried out by Yasunao Aoki and Masashi Ikeda.

Character Story

Miroku is a rather strong and handsome human monk. His family, starting with his grandfather when he was young, was placed under a curse by Naraku, whereby they have a vortex in their right hand that can swallow anything that comes in its way. This is something powerful and dangerous, since it is very difficult for someone to face him without being sucked in, but the curse is that in a few years, inevitably, the vortex will suck in Miroku himself (just like his father was sucked in). and his grandfather) and there will be nothing left of him, just a big hole in the ground as evidence.

Because he is a monk, he travels from town to town "helping" to the people. Every time he detects a house or castle possessed by a demon he approaches him to offer his services and drives the demon out of the house, due to this the people who live there reward him with food, lodging or material goods.

It would seem that the black hole (vortex) is invincible, but Naraku has gotten some poisonous insects, the Saimyôshô, to poison Miroku, if he absorbs them. Because of that when it comes to fighting Naraku or his servants he can never use it, since there are always these insects around him.

However, he seems to really like his traveling companion, Sango, who also feels the same way about Miroku, and on one occasion, they agree that after Naraku is killed, they will get married. It's just that sometimes the relationship doesn't progress much, because Miroku really likes to flirt with any woman he comes across, as well as fondling Sango (and any girl in front of him, he calls it touching her assets) for what which always ends with a marked slap on one of his cheeks. But, besides that, Miroku proves to be really in love with Sango. He has shown it on several occasions, where he has risked her life to save hers, which makes Sango know that he is as in love with her as she is with him.

In the last chapter of the InuYasha manga (558), Miroku and Sango are married and have three children: two twin girls and a newborn boy.

In InuYasha Movie 2, after Naraku's death, his curse is broken and the black hole closes and vanishes, releasing Miroku. But Naraku revives at the end of the movie unexpectedly and the black hole comes out again in his hand.

Physical appearance

Miroku is a rather handsome Buddhist monk, strong and tall, with a fair complexion, thanks to which he is very popular among the women of his time despite being a monk. He has light eyes and two hoop earrings in his left ear, while his right ear only has one. He wears the habit that differentiates him as such from black and violet colors. His hair is tied up in a small ponytail and in his hand he has some Buddhist beads that he has tied to control his curse since he is placed in that hand. Finally mention that he has a scepter with him.

Miroku has enough strength to fight head-on with various demons even without using the black hole (vortex) in his right hand. However, when things get very bad and there are too many enemies, he is forced to use the force of the vortex to defeat the enemy.

Personality

Miroku is a person who is sure of himself, so he uses everything in his favor to get places to stay, using strategies to do so. She doesn't like to be called a priest or a monk or in any other way. She points out that he is a bonze (monk follower of the Buddha).

He loves sharing his time with women, he is a womanizer but it is largely due to the curse he possesses because he does not have much life expectancy, he seeks to have children as soon as possible, so whenever he meets a pretty girl he asks her if you want to be the mother of his children. and this didn't exclude Kagome who she asked earlier in the series upon meeting her. This of course does nothing more than embarrass the woman to whom he asks the question and her friends, or sometimes, the girl in question answers him with a slap for being disrespectful, although he doesn't seem to care. He considers himself a casanova.

Although his duty as a monk is to help, Miroku makes sure he is well rewarded for his services, he doesn't mind blackmailing the warlord into paying him an extremely high fee or even telling him he's going to drive out a demon non-existent as long as he stayed one night to sleep under cover. Despite the fact that the others disapprove of his methods, the truth is that Miroku always manages to stay in the best places in each town.

But not all of his attributes are negative, Miroku is a cautious person and thinks before making each move, he also has a very useful intelligence about the beings of that time and he would give everything to protect his own, even sacrificing his own life if necessary.
