Military Council for Justice and Democracy

The Military Council for Justice and Democracy power of Mauritania after the coup d'état of August 3, 2005 and was led by Ely Ould Mohamed Vall who proclaimed himself President of the Republic and assumed executive and legislative power in its entirety on August 10 of the same year. The functions of this body have not been specified after the Mauritanian presidential elections in 2007, although it was dissolved de facto.
