Maria Botto
María Botto Rota (Buenos Aires; February 10, 1974) is an Argentine-Spanish actress. She is the daughter of actors Cristina Rota and Diego Fernando Botto and sister of Juan Diego Botto and Nur Levi, all of whom are also actors.
Biography
María Botto was born on February 10, 1974 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is the daughter of Argentine actors, Cristina Rota, an acting teacher, and Diego Fernando Botto, who disappeared on March 21, 1977 during the terror campaign of the Argentine Videla dictatorship, joining the list of missing people. The couple also had a son, the actor Juan Diego Botto (1975).
In 1978, when she was three years old, her pregnant mother had to leave the country and move to Spain where she gave birth to her daughter, also an actress Nur Levi (1979). The family permanently takes up residence in Spain, where from then on Botto will grow up and reside.
His mother founded an acting school in Madrid, the seed of the later Center for New Creators, based in the Sala Mirador, where some of the best Spanish actors and actresses have passed. Growing up in that artistic environment of hers made her start her career as an actress very young.

In cinema, he has filmed under the orders of directors such as Vicente Aranda, Montxo Armendariz and Kevin Reynolds. One of his most celebrated roles has been the one he played in Soldiers of Salamina, by David Trueba, in the year 2003. In 2009 he made the international leap with the film My Life in Ruins by Donald Petrie alongside Richard Dreyfuss, which opened the doors to his future work both in England and the United States. In recent years she has combined both national and international productions, among which we can highlight “Risen” alongside Joseph Fiennes directed by Kevin Reynolds, the English production Mad Dogs alongside John Simm and Philip Glenister, who was the only actress alongside to Ben Chaplin who repeated the character in his American version “Mad Dogs”, she has also participated in the TNT series “Good Behavior” with Michelle Dockery, in Spain we have seen her in “Cuerpo de Elite” directed by Joaquín Mazón or one of her latest works in the series “Cuéntame as a step".
