Climate and geography
Máncora has a warm climate with an average of 26 °C. The hottest months, which are from December to May, are characterized by light rain at night and a temperature that can easily reach 35 °C. With the occurrence of the El Niño phenomenon, it can reach up to 40°C. In the rest of the year, the daytime temperature rarely drops below 25 or 26 °C, although in winters; From June to September, the nights are cool, windy and the minimum temperature does not drop below 19°C. Spring (October and November) and autumn (May and June) maintain temperatures that range between 28 °C - 30 °C maximum and 20 °C minimum respectively.
The sea temperature in Piura and Tumbes varies, ranging between 26 °C and 24 °C during the summer months (November to May) and the rest of the year between 20 °C and 23 °C; which differentiates it from the rest of the Peruvian beaches further south in these regions, since these rarely rise above 23 °C, even in summer. This is due to the important influence of the Humboldt current.
Máncora is characterized by its sand beaches between light beige and semi-orange, its crystal-clear green-blue (summer) and turquoise (winter) waters (deeply blue during the mornings), coastal planks and sandy hills, carob fauna, and its tropical savanna or adjoining equatorial dry forest a few km from the coast.
Transportation
The town is accessible by road through the North Pan-American Highway, with regular transportation of buses and tourist vehicles. Air access is basically provided by four air terminals: Tumbes Airport, Piura International Airport, Talara International Airport and the Walter Braedt Segú Aerodrome (ICAO code SPWB) in the city of Máncora (3 km away).
- It has a paved track of 1,750 meters long for 30 meters wide, which gives it the reference code 3 for the aerodrome classification.
- It has a safety strip of 35 meters on both sides of the track.
- Trajectory of promotion and descent of both headers (22 and 04) free of obstacles, allowing aircraft to operate without limitations and with better performance.
Attractions
Due to the benign dry-tropical climate of Máncora (not as humid as other tropical regions although always very hot and with an equally or more radiant sun) it is an ideal area for diving and surfing.. The northern marine food (Sechura, Paita, Piura and Tumbes) of Peru is one of the most varied on the coast and has the privilege of having the two sea currents all year round (cold Humboldt and hot El Niño); which offers us delicious marine dishes such as ceviches prepared with grouper, swordfish and shrimp, among other delicacies.
Demography
Currently 2021, Mancora has 44,527 inhabitants with a large part of its population being foreigners, mostly from Spain, France, the USA, Argentina, Chile, etc., making up 51% of its total population.

In health, it has a Minsa health center and the Flores Medical Clinic, Avenida Grau 184, which has been operating since January 1990 and is a graduate of the San Fernando School of Medicine in Lima.
