Malachor V

Malachor V is a fictional world from the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. It was a planet located in the Unknown Regions, close to the space that would become the Imperial Remnant and on the farthest frontier of the original Sith Empire. It is certain that Sith excursions discovered the planet and built an Academy on it with all their original knowledge, the Trayus Academy. The planet had a Dark Side aura superior to most planets.

Description of the planet

It was a ball of stone and metal, with poisonous eruptions and storms, surrounded by gravity anomalies and greenish-greyish mist.

The human Jedi Master Revan discovered the planet in the first year of the three-year Mandalorian Wars. He was accompanied by the Jedi Malak. Revan realized that this discovery was proof that the Sith Empire reached beyond the Mid Rim. Revan noted that it contained as much information as any other ancient Sith world except with one difference. The knowledge of other planets had been lost or destroyed, but on Malachor it was intact. That was how Revan found out about the world of Korriban. There Revan sensed the aura of the Dark Side and attempted to use it against the Mandalorian army. Revan didn't intend to turn to the Dark Side, only use it from the light.

It was the site of the final and bloodiest battle between Jedi and Mandalorians during the Mandalorian Wars, the third year of the Mandalorian Wars. Revan used the remains of the Republican fleet to lure the Mandalorians to that planet, which they were forbidden to visit. In it, the Jedi Revan used the Dark Side of the planet to seduce less loyal soldiers and Jedi into his army, turning the tide of battle in his favor. He later defeated Lord Mandalore, the Ultimate in a hand-to-hand duel and killed him. He also built a Mass Generator on the planet that devastated part of the Republican troops and all the Mandalorians. The planet was chosen shortly after by the Republic to disarm all Mandalorians. Using the energy of the dark side, Revan turned to the dark side and drew his army of Jedi to the Academy and taught them Sith culture.

Speaking of the planet, it can be said that it was filled with the dead and wrecked ships. The bombardments subtracted mass from the planet, creating small archipelagos of asteroids mixed with the remains of ships that orbited the misshapen planetoid that was Malachor. The sky filled with dust, and thunderstorms, gas storms, and earthquakes on the warped black surface increased. Between the craters only one species survived. The beast of storms, bipedal, carnivorous and oviparous.

Five years later the Jedi Civil War ended and Revan returned to the light. She traveled to Malachor to find out what really happened. When he left the planet, his former teacher, Kreia, arrived, who turned to the Dark Side after visiting the Academy and training numerous Sith. But she was expelled by her apprentices and the planet was left empty until months later when Kreia returned and a Jedi human exile defeated her and using the energy of some crashed ships detonated the planetary core and burst the planet into a green ball that separated it into three planetoids. which gradually disintegrated.
