The Maccabi of Tel Aviv Sport Club (in Hebrew: מכבי תל אביב‎) is a multi-sports society in Tel Aviv, Israel. It has sections in different sports, among which basketball, soccer, handball and volleyball stand out. The club also has teams for judo, swimming and other disciplines.

Basketball section

The Maccabi of Tel Aviv Basket Club, sponsored since 1969 by the Elite brand, is the most successful Israeli basketball team and one of the most prestigious in Asia, although it participates in the European competition.

Maccabi basketball was founded in the mid-1930s. Since then it has been the absolute dominator of basketball in its country, winning 45 League titles and 35 Cup titles. But Maccabi's great prestige is due, however, to their participation in international competitions. The Maccabees have won 6 of the 15 European Cup/Euroleague finals they have played. They also won the Intercontinental Cup on one occasion.

This Tel Aviv team is the FIBA team that has faced NBA franchises on the most occasions, having played 11 games; He won four of them. In 1978, they defeated the Washington Bullets; in 1984, to the New Jersey Nets and the Phoenix Suns, and, in 2005, to the Toronto Raptors in their own pavilion. Football section

The Football section, the Maccabi of Tel Aviv F.C., is one of the most important teams in the country having won 18 Leagues, 15 Cups and 2 Asian Cups. On seven occasions, Maccabi managed to do the double, that is, winning the League and the Cup in the same season.
