Luzer

Luser, Spanishized Lúser, contraction of English between loser (loser, failure) and user (user), is a term used by hackers and BOFHs to refer to common users (local users in English or l-users, hence the term), pejoratively and as a mockery. "Luser" it is the common user, who is generally at a disadvantage compared to expert users, who can control all aspects of a system.

Description

The term was coined in 1975 at MIT after some students modified the programming of the ITS computer so that instead of reporting "XX users online", it would report "XX losers online"[citation needed]. Finally the word "losers" (losers, failures) was changed to "lusers" which is pronounced the same but it didn't mean anything since it was a new term, which mixed "losers" with "users" (users).

It is also used to designate any leecher user who does not look for opportunities to learn, and who instead expects to obtain maximum ease of use.
