Legends
Appearance of the Virgin of Remedies and the Miracle
Legend has it that while plowing his field, a humble farmer saw how his plow brushed against a slab. Intrigued, he cleaned the slab and moved it... And there were the two images of the Virgin that are currently venerated. The townspeople returned them to their altar.
But since they realized that the neighboring town of Villamayor did not have a Virgin, they went up one of the two. The next day the image appeared in Luquin with a drop of blood. This was repeated several times with the same result. Hence, it was decided that the two images would remain forever.
They tell of them innumerable miracles and help to the people who have devotion to them. The veneration in the Merindad has been very great. His party is celebrated on September 8 with a novena.
