Luis Tosar

Luis López Tosar (Cospeito, Lugo, October 13, 1971) is a Spanish actor, winner of the Goya Award three times. The first one as best supporting actor in Los lunes al sol (2002) and the following ones as best leading actor for Te doy mis ojos (2003) and Cell 211 (2009).

He was born in Lugo, Galicia, on October 13, 1971, although his family is from Xustás, Cospeito, Lugo. He began in the field of short films and later became known for his presence in the Galician Television series Mareas Vivas, the first episode of which was screened in January 1999, a series shot in Galician that launched him to fame. in Galicia. He received the Goya Award from the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in 2003, as best supporting actor for Los lunes al sol and in 2004 as best leading actor for I give you my eyes. Apart from his role in the world of cinema, Luis Tosar is a member of the comedy trio "The Magical Brothers" (with César Goldi and Piti Sanz).

He is also a member of the musical group "Di Elas", which he leads together with Piti Sanz. The group was formed in 2008, and whose name is due to the fact that they covered songs performed mainly by female voices, or groups whose main voice is a woman. First they were called The Ellas and later they translated it into Galician, finally adopting the name Di Elas. On March 29, 2011, they published their first self-titled album.

Tosar also did the Spanish dubbing of General George Washington in the Ubisoft video game, Assassin's Creed III.

Social projects
