Lophatherum is a genus of herbaceous plants belonging to the Poaceae family. It is native to eastern Asia.

Etymology

The name of the genus derives from the Greek words lophos (crest or tuft of hairs) and ather (wheat beard, arista), referring to tufts of beards in sterile slogans.
